The Senior Pastor for Pathways Church is the primary weekend communicator and is responsible for the vision, operations, and congregational life of the church. This role works in partnership with the Executive Director to develop and execute ministry through staff leads, team leads, and the church body to glorify God and accomplish the mission of leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

What are the steps in this process?
The search for our new Lead Pastor is underway and the board has selected Vanderbloemen Staffing to begin the recruitment process. While the overall process has many details and great depth, we would like to share the eight components of the process and where we currently are on that journey.
Launch: meet in person to help Vanderbloemen better understand the Pathways Church Mission and culture. Generate a search profile.
Sourcing: Vanderbloemen draws on its network and data base to match potential candidates with Pathways.
Mid-Point: Vanderbloemen will provide us with a list of the top candidates based on step 1 and 2.
Interviewing: Vanderbloemen continues to vet the candidate results and build their profiles.
Presentation: Vanderbloemen will officially present the candidate list with a deep profile on each.
Client/Candidate Interviews: first and possible second round of candidates, conducted on site.
Reference/ Background Checks: Vanderbloemen will conduct appropriate background checks.
Negotiation/ Closure: If needed Vanderbloemen can serve as facilitator to help finalize the details.
As you can see, this is a lengthy, but necessary process to ensure that we find the most appropriate candidate for this church. As we move forward, we will be enlisting feedback from staff and a congregant committee. Overall, the process is expected to take approximately six months. We are currently in the pre-launch stage. We have been working with Vanderbloemen and filling out forms to help them build the Pathways profile. We have booked the onsite launch meeting for the first weekend in February.
We are also continuing to evaluate potential interim pastors. As we navigate the interim role, our staff has been doing a great job of continuing to provide strong speakers and messages. Currently they have secured speakers to complete services through the end of January.
