Hope for the Warriors

Below is a snippet from a letter we received in response to the donation from the 2017 Freedom Run in May.

Thank you to Pathways Church for giving the gift of hope to our heroes and their families. The generous donation sends a powerful message of gratitude and respect to our veterans, caregivers, active duty military, and their families who sacrifice so much.

Because of supporters like Pathways Church, Hope for the Warriors is able to provide restorative services to thousands of deserving veterans like Purple Heart recipient Sergeant First Class Robert Fleming, based out of Cicero, New York. Enlisting in the Army at the age of 19, SFC Fleming deployed to Iraq one year later and went on to serve his country for the next 12 years. During one patrol, SFC Fleming's convoy was ambushed, forcing him to the ground and causing a concussion and shrapnel wounds. Since childhood, camping had provided a place of serenity for the father of three, but had become more difficult due to his combat injuries. In autumn 2016, Hope for the Warriors granted SFC Fleming's Warrior's Wish of a pull-behind travel trailer, providing a well-deserved respite and allowing him to once again enjoy camping with his family. SFC Fleming says, "We are forever grateful to be granted this wish...the trailer has become our own personal oasis."

Your investment in Hope for the Warriors helps improve the quality of life for SFC Fleming and other veterans. You are the reason we are able to fulfill our mission and honor the sacrifices of our military community.
