The purpose of the Benevolence Fund is to provide financial aid to a Pathways Church attender who is in urgent need. The church has the right to adjust or decline an applicant’s request and may consider providing assistance other than monetary help.
Applicants are not granted financial assistance based on relationships between church leaders or church contribution. The church does not discriminate between applicants based upon race, color, gender, national origins, age or disability.
Benevolence Funds are granted based on the merit of the application for the purpose of meeting primary, short-term needs. These needs are defined as those necessary for physical , emotional, and spiritual survival resulting from an unforeseen disaster. These needs are as follows:
- Medical Assistance (Including Counseling)
Benevolence Funds cannot be granted for the following:
- Reinstatement fees
- Rental & Mortgage fees (rental deposits, down payments or association fees)
- Legal fees (attorney fees, bail, court fees, traffic violations, child support)
- Cable/ Internet bills
·Benevolence Funds can only be granted to a requestor or requestor’s immediate family one time during a 12 month period after assistance has been approved and paid.
Benevolence Fund Process
Benevolence Fund Assistance forms can be obtained online via Pathways Church website or at the church office Monday– Thursday– 8am-4pm.
Completed forms will be reviewed by the Community Outreach Department. A final decision will be made within 5-7 business days of receipt of the applicant form.
At the discretion of the Community Outreach Department, documentation regarding income, personal bank statements and expenses may be requested. The Community Outreach Department may request to speak directly to the vendor, business, or service provider.
If approved, a check will be distributed directly to the vendor, business, or service provider for which the applicant owes funds and never to the applicant directly.
