CHRIS TARMANN: BOARD CHAIRMAN
Chris and his wife Kelly have lived in the Fox Valley for the past 10 years and have been involved at Pathways since the Summer of 2008. Chris grew up serving in numerous capacities at his “home” church in Peshtigo, WI.
After getting married he and his wife started attending Pathways Church and they both have served at Pathways in various capacities such as children’s ministry, community outreach programs, and by providing photography services for programs. Chris has a passion for leadership,community outreach, missions, and relationships. Chris and Kelly have been involved in small groups and enjoy spending a large amount of time with their three children (Caleb, Connor, and Taylor). Chris works as a Police Lieutenant in the Fox Valley and has been serving communities in a law enforcement capacity for nearly a decade.
Chris leans on the following scripture regularly to help him make decisions and focus on what God has in store for his family, himself, and the people around him;
“Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Jeanne Dempsey: board secretary
Born and raised in the Fox Valley, Jeanne and Jim, married for 42 years, joined Pathways in 2012. Jim enjoys using his construction gifts and looks forward to upcoming construction projects at Pathways. Jeanne delights in God’s Word and has served in many areas including teaching Precepts Bible studies, leading many small groups, serving and leading in Women’s Ministry for 25+ years, miscellaneous roles in Children’s Ministry, and praying and interceding whenever God presents the opportunity. Jeanne has worked in the medical and administrative fields for 20+ years after being a stay-at-home mom for many years.
Jeanne’s life is framed by John 15, Romans 12, Philippians 4 and 2 Corinthians 5:11-21. Her center and life verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Karen Senn: board Treasurer
Karen was born and raised in LaGrange, IL and moved to the Fox Cities in 1982. She has been a member of Pathways Church since 2000. Karen and her husband, Bruce, have served at pathways in various capacities, such as ushers, moving ministry, small group leaders, community outreach, and mission trips. Karen has a passion for missions, teaching, and reaching. Karen graduated from Purdue University and has worked for a large consumer products company for over 30 years. Her experience has been in product supply, procurement, and supply chain. Karen and Bruce have a blended family of three adult children and one delightful granddaughter named Samantha June.
One of Karen’s favorite verses is Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” This is our call to action to win, grow, and send.
Greg and Vicki have resided in Neenah for the past 23 years and attended Christ the Rock for 9 years before coming to Pathways in 2010. They are proud parents of 2 adult children and in addition have opened their home to a few young men that needed help over the past 10 years. Since coming to Pathways, Greg has been involved in teaching, mentoring, leading small groups and Men’s Ministry. Greg is an accomplished sales and marketing professional passionate about challenging the status quo – bringing sound business strategy to his clients. In addition, Greg is a professional coach helping people navigate career and life choices. Greg is dedicated to helping men actualize their gifts and true calling in life, particularly helping young men grow from adolescence into manhood.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” This passage has become the cornerstone for Greg as he continues to grow in his spiritual life – with a heart for serving his family, church and community.
Scott and his wife Jami moved to Appleton five years ago due to a career change and have been involved at Pathways since the Spring of 2010. They both have served at Pathways and previous churches in various capacities such as teaching, leading small groups, and ministering to married couples. Leadership development, teaching, and strategic planning are all areas of ministry passion that Scott brings to the leadership team at Pathways. While an engineer by training, Scott’s career has led him into various sales & marketing leadership roles. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a division of a Fortune 500 company.
Christ told Pontius Pilate as recorded in John 18:37 that he came to this world to “testify to the Truth”. For Scott that passage has been a catalyst for on-going study as he strives to understand God’s Truth for his life, his family, and those around him.
Bruce is originally from Green Bay and has been married to his wife, Diane, for over 26 years. They have two children in middle and high school and their family began attending Pathways in 2013 after moving back to Wisconsin from Illinois. Bruce as 32 years of experience in innovation leadership and is employed by a Fortune 500 company with plants and offices in Appleton. He's currently active in marriage mentoring as well as property and facilities management at Pathways.
In his free time he enjoys woodworking and Wisconsin outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and cross-country skiing. His life Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
ADAM DEMETRICIAN: LEAD PASTOR
Adam is passionate about building the Kingdom of God through the local church. He spent his first 13 years on staff at three different churches developing ministries ranging from students to adults. For the past 3 years, he has served as the Campus Pastor at Discovery Church in Orlando, Florida.
He has a wife, Laura, and two daughters. Laura has a ministry for pastor’s wives called Tree By Water. Adam received a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University and Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.
chris kliner: children's ministries Pastor
Chris and Teresa Kliner and their four children have been actively serving Pathways Church since August of 2008. Prior to Pathways, Chris has served on staff at several other churches and has worked as a children’s ministries pastor in a full time capacity for the past 19 years. Chris is passionate to partner with parents in leading their children in a growing relationship with Jesus. He continues to develop strong leaders and becomes energized when empowering adults and students to lead. In addition, Chris is excited to witness next generation expansion to God’s Kingdom and supply children with the necessary steps to have a growing relationship with Christ.
Chris enjoys family nights, sports, music and summer time! Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” For Chris, this passage has been a stronghold, as he navigates God’s divine plans for him and seeks God’s wisdom in everything he does.
Pathways Church is Lead Pastor led and Board governed. The Board will govern with an emphasis on servant leadership, overall vision, openness to express divergent viewpoints, clear distinction between Board and Lead Pastor’s roles, collective decision, and being future focused and proactive.
